Together we’ll make three peaceful, powerful days devoted to your creative work, and three joyful evenings sharing our work, including work-in-progress, from the retreat.
Bring your materials and join fellow creatives for a weekend in the serene redwoods. You’ll find your good workspace in historic buildings, in the chapel, and outdoors for spacious daylight hours to work on whatever you’d like – writing a song or writing the next chapter of a novel, painting an icon or a watercolor, beginning or continuing the project you’ve had in mind for a while, or trying your hand at something new.
Evenings this emergent community of old friends and new will gather to share fresh, unfinished work with the retreat’s long standing listening and feedback practice that inspires many to share new, even unfinished work in progress for discerning, encouraging, and inspiring response.
Lodging & Commuter Options
Standard lodging is in double-rooms with two twin beds (base rate).
A *limited number of single-occupancy rooms are available (higher rate).
New in 2024: Register for a local commuter option. Includes meals Friday dinner through Monday lunch; does not include overnight accomodations /lodgings.
Roommate and building requests will be taken into consideration but are not guaranteed.
Double-occupancy residential retreat: Double-occupancy lodging for three nights & nine meals (Friday dinner-Monday lunch) included. $450.00 per person.
*Single-occupancy residential retreat: Single-occupancy lodging for three nights & nine meals (Friday dinner-Monday lunch) included. Limited availability. $500.00 per person.
Partial residential retreat: departing on Sunday evening, includes two nights lodgings and seven meals. $400.00 per person. *Single-occupancy may not be available.
Commuter non-residential retreat: Nine meals are included (Friday dinner-Monday lunch), no lodgings. $275.00 per person.
Online fees: All payments made through online platforms incur fees for St. Dorothy's Rest. If you have to cancel your registration for any reason, you will be refunded less fees.

Scholarships & Donations to St. Dorothy's Rest
Since its founding in 1901, St. Dorothy's Rest has welcomed campers and guests to experiene rest and healing in nature, regardless of their ability to pay. We extend this practice to St. Dorothy's Rest hosted retreats by offering scholarships to those people who are economically disadvantaged.
If you are experiencing financial difficulties and would like to attend the Artists & Writers Retreat on scholarship, please check the corresponding box below and indicate the amount you are able to contribute (any amount is appreciated). Addie, the Retreat Coordinator, will contact you via email to finalize your registration.
If you're able to contribute to the Artists & Writers Scholarship Fund, please add your donation below. Donations of any amount are appreciated and go directly to fund fellow participants experiencing financial difficulties.
